I Don’t Make Clothes Out Of Loom Bands

Shimo-1

OH HEY LOOK, ACTUAL CLOTHES! Being the royally late updater that I am, these ~outfit~ shots from my Japan trip last July is only being posted a full month after. But it’s a milestone that they even made it online, so I pat myself on the back. I quite enjoyed putting together this “ensemble” because it hits all the right chords for me = fun, visually interesting, comfortable, with a hint of boyishness.

Ponchos remind me of grandmothers and warm fuzzy feelings. This particular poncho of mine, I remember, I got from Claire’s (yes as in the tweenage accessories store which sells occasional tutus and magic wands) during my third trip to the US. 9 years later and already frayed at the ends, here it is making a cameo on my new blog!

Grandma ponchos may have never been resurrected in this century as a stylish comeback piece, but it makes me feel fuzzy and comfortable. Swishing around with it still makes me feel like I crawled out of a vintage chest, and despite me getting randomly hooked in by chairs and other sharp objects around the vicinity, I love it just the same.

I believe it is time to elevate my blog from what it has formerly been known (Dressed-Up Days), to a more general umbrella housing my many other interests aside from fashion and dressing up. I want to impart more to the world than just details of outfits and information about where to get wild jewelry. I want to talk more about things that are outside the realm of recent purchases and daily sartorial choices. I want to write about the beautiful things I see in this world, more than just writing about developing lust for a certain pair of shoes.

I also want to properly reintroduce myself to the rest of the world. I want this blog to represent all the things that invigorate me : art, design, music, fashion. I want to show all the things I love to do and how I do them. I want to keep a record of interests, processes, experiments, and creative output. I want to chronicle a life riddled with both relevance and trivialities.

Reeseypeasy.com will mainly be an art + design + music + fashion blog, all rolled into one convenient sushi.

Welcome.
